...a 4 weekend transformation kit for the Rover MGF
The Blaze F is a comprehensive body transformation kit for the Rover MGF. The Blaze F is a unique sports car, but with all the benefits of a mass production car. These valuable benefits include modern safety features such as ABS, airbags and crash protection zones, reliability, security and rigorous development.
The Blaze F is designed for simplicity and speed of build, with mechanic skills not essential. In fact a competent DIY enthusiast could build the car in as little as four weekends of rewarding work.
Because the Blaze F is built using the Rover MGF platform, it negates the need for the SVA test as required by other kit cars. The MGF platform is a mid-mounted, rear wheel drive configuration and was fitted with either 1.6 or 1.8 litre Rover K-series engines. Standard power outputs range from 110 to 157 bhp which give the Blaze F a free revving and responsive drive. With further modification the K-series is capable of developing upto 200 bhp.
The MGF came as standard with a soft-top convertible roof, but the optional hard-top can also be used with the Blaze F kit. The Blaze F retains the comfort and practicality of the MGF with boot space actually increased over that of the standard car.
The track has been widened 50mm front & rear to fill the wheel arches of the neatly crafted body. The increase in track width also increases lateral grip, improving handling. Further chassis and suspension improvements are to follow in the not too distant future.

LIGHTING KIT : Brake, tail, indicator, fog and reverse lights with powerful projector headlamps. Front indicators and side repeaters may be taken from the donor vehicle.

- Wheel spacers and longer wheel hub studs.
- Body catches.
- All brackets and fixings including two tubes of polyurethane adhesive sealant.

A driver airbag was standard on all MGFs and passenger bag optional. ABS was optional on some models. Security is good with an alarm, immobiliser and visible VIN on all models.
